Who Can Join?

Everyone is warmly welcome. This training is option to yoga teachers AND as a complement to your profession if, for example, you are a coach or therapist—or simply for your own personal growth.

Again and again, we receive wonderful feedback after the course:n "I feel so rested, as if I’ve been on a retreat!"
Many participants return year after year to repeat the course, saying "just to relax, reconnect with the teachers, and get more inspiration." So beautiful!

1) Yoga Teachers

We recommend that you have completed a 200-hour teacher training (any style)—but it is not mandatory. If you haven’t, just let us know, and we’ll go through your experience together to see how we can best support you.

The purpose of this training is to give you more tools—to offer more classes, reach more students, and bring variety to the classes you already teach. For example, you can include a Yoga Nidra instead of Savasana at the end of a Yin or dynamic yoga class. The great thing about Yoga Nidra is that students don’t need any special equipment or clothes, so it works really well for workplace settings—a 30-minute lunch Nidra is a great concept, and we’re happy to help you structure a plan for it.

The training consists of 30 core hours plus 7 optional hours (aligned with Yoga Alliance criteria) that you can add afterward if you wish to explore Yoga Nidra further. These extra hours are completed as an additional home assignment, with our support.

2) Coaches, Therapists, or Other Health & Wellness Professionals

Yoga Nidra is a fantastic tool if you work with people—as a coach, therapist, personal trainer, or massage therapist, for example. This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical tools that you can immediately apply to help your clients incorporate rest into their daily lives. It can help people to reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance focus.

Many past participants have told us  how easy it is to integrate Yoga Nidra into their practice and how much of a positive impact it has—not only on their clients but on themselves as well!

3) Just for Yourself

You can also take this training without being a yoga teacher, simply to learn more about Yoga Nidra—how it works and how to use it in your daily life. In this case, you can skip the homework and teaching exercises, which means you won’t receive a certificate. However, if you later change your mind and want certification, you can easily complete these components with another group.

We (Melanie and Jennie) have worked together for many years and have 45 years of teaching experience between us from teaching yoga and teacher trainings full time.

We have experienced a lot over the years – and what we keep coming back to is how important it is to be authentic, to find “your voice” as a teacher and to have the courage to be YOURSELF when you are teaching! Working as a yoga teacher is amazing – but it also takes a lot of energy – and can be very draining if you are not looking after yourself. And it’s so easy to not give ourselves that time/attention/selfcare – so in the training we will also put emphasis on how to create space for your own health and practice: to stay balanced and mentally strong!

We will cover

  • A non-dogmatic approach.
We will cover the main techniques and modern schools of Yoga Nidra and what they offer. You’ll get the chance to compare and explore different methods to see which works the best for you.

  • Yoga Nidra scripts.
Online resources: You’ll get ready made scripts in different methods. Together we will also explore and develop a treasure trove of ideas and scripts for teaching your own yoga nidra – as well as incorporating it in your own practice.

  • The structure
A detailed look at each stage of the practice; the intention behind it and how it affects the body and mind.

  • Modifications. Contra-indications.
How to adapt your teaching for different students

  • Basic science of Yoga Nidra.
Brainwaves, Hypnagogia, Basic anatomy of the brain, states of consciousness

  • History & Philosophy

  • Stress

  • Your own practice

Course Manual

You will receive your Yoga Nidra Notes training manual by PDF (118 pages) one day before the course starts, via email.

Hard Copy Manual

If you also want a printed copy of the manual, this is available at cost price including postage within the UK and Europe (please add £10 postage for rest of the world)
Note! Please don’t share the manual with anyone. It is subject to copyright law.

Homework

We use the term Homework loosely here, there is a requirement of 7 hours of learning outside of the course, some will be written but mostly to establish a Yoga Nidra practice (students have said that this is their favourite ever homework!)

No exams

No written tests or “performance” required, rather, we are interested in seeing that you have gained an understanding and knowledge that you can apply to each individual student depending on their needs.  This course is intended to spark your interest in embarking on or continuing this fascinating journey.

Will the sessions be recorded?

We pride ourselves in delivering a live, interactive course where students can ask questions, get involved and provide feedback, thoughts and input to the course as it happens.  There are many pre-recorded options available, but we think that it makes a better learning experience to really get involved and to keep that group atmosphere, so we don’t record our sessions.

We also want to respect the privacy of our students and friends: this is a safe learning space where growth and personal development can take place. We know from experience that it’s quite common that people get a bit nervous or uncomfortable when sessions are being recorded and therefore won’t participate in group discussions etc – and we want everyone to feel safe, to be able to express themselves, without being recorded.

Then there’s also GDPR: it’s against data protection regulations to record and share events without the permission of ALL participants.

What if I need to miss a section?

If you miss half a day or less, you can easily catch up by reviewing the material in the manual or by joining another group at a later date free of charge.

If you miss more than half a day, you can make it up with another  group for an admin fee of £30 per day. You’ll get a completely comprehensive Yoga Nidra manual – so if you miss a session or want to repeat something after the course – no worries! Everything is in the manual!
You’re also very welcome to repeat the whole course whenever you like, for just an admin fee: £50 in total!

Can I repeat the course?

If you’ve already done a course with us and would like to repeat it:

  • In most cases, you can attend online courses for just an admin fee (see prices below).

  • In-person courses are available at a discounted price. Please contact us for the exact details for each course.

Admin Fees for Repeating Online Courses:

  • 1-day courses: £30

After completion of this course you will get a 30 hour Yoga Alliance Yoga Nidra certificate. If you already have a 200 hours Yoga Teaching certificate you are now certified to teach Yoga Nidra!

If you don't already have a 200 hours qualification then it will depend on what other qualifications you have and whether your insurance company are happy to insure you. If this applies to you we recommend you check with your insurers first.

It was exactly what I needed and so much more than I’d hoped for on so many levels. It will take a while to process everything but I think I will be one of those moments that, when you look back, that you realise was a huge shift.”– Alex, UK
