A weeklong retreat with afternoon workshops focused on anatomy and understanding your body in a way that is relevant to your yoga practice. Stu and I will help you explore your body’s full potential, with personal attention helping you to uncover the limitations in your body and learning to work with them. By exploring specific poses and very targeted explorations of the restrictions, we can help you to transform your practice and learn to use your new knowledge to work effectively with your students.
Pranayama and meditation in the morning, followed by Mysore self-practice classes will give you the space to explore what you have learnt. Afternoon sessions will include workshops on asana, yoga anatomy and after a restorative class. There will be plenty of time to relax and just be, soaking in the gorgeous surroundings.
Stu Girling is an international yoga anatomy teacher and body worker. He runs workshops and teaches on Yoga Teacher Training programs all around the world, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with him on numerous occasions. He has a special knack of making anatomy engaging, fun and relevant to what’s going on in your body. He runs LoveYogaAnatomy.com, which is full of information, interviews and resources.
Samahita Retreat was established in 2003 on a peaceful beachfront location on Koh Samui’s southern coast and is known as the island’s hidden gem. The intimate boutique retreat centre has 40 rooms, a detox and wellness centre and is celebrated for its health food restaurant Sattva Dining.
